@NotTaylorutt@syvvycity@Noze2222 I think they didn’t want you to assume my gender? You were right so no worries, and you definitely didn’t misgender Frisk lol
@syvvycity@Noze2222 I agree, you’re definitely right. My point was that we should be aware that the exact same conditions in real life wouldn’t work. Of course, that doesn’t take any merit away from Undertale, but it’s not directly applicable to real life in this form.
@Uncle_Barbara@syvvycity@Noze2222 This situation is not to be taken one to one to real life and instead just used as a parallel to what it’s actually trying to say, then yeah. While I wouldn’t say Undertale’s “all about that”, it’s something that we can definitely infer.
@Uncle_Barbara@syvvycity@Noze2222 If you’re saying it being a game is a part of it’s thought experiment, then sure you’re right. I just wanted to say that those conditions wouldn’t apply in real life, since that’s where we apply the results of that thought experiment. But as I said, if you’re accepting that-(1/2)
@syvvycity@Noze2222 “The player avatar” means it’s a game. As long as irl Frisk isn’t posessed by some god or smth, that aspect only works on a videogame format
And yes, I’m aware of Frisk respawning being diagetic. But they still die momentarily before respawning, and you can’t die painlessly irl.
@eijicchi Subaru was trying to brute force through the taboo here, which meant the classic treatment wouldn’t work. In order to shut him up and warn him, the witch chose to kill the person he was trying to explain it to. Subaru will always be afraid of the taboo now, never challenging it.
