IMPORTANT: As per an @IndianExpress report , nearly 92 lakh women in Maharashtra out of the scheme’s 2.42 crore peak beneficiaries wrongly received Ladki Bahin benefits—a staggering 38%. Around ₹14,000 crore was disbursed before payments were stopped.
Net-net: when elections had to be won in 2024, due diligence was conveniently missing. Now that the polls are over and state finances are under strain, the beneficiary list has been slashed.
The real question: ₹14,000 crore is taxpayers’ money. Wouldn’t it have been far better spent on educating lakhs of young girls and creating lasting opportunities, rather than being used as an election-time freebie to secure votes? Empowerment comes through education and opportunity, not election-year handouts!🙏

A YouTuber named Rider Veer Ji conducted a mileage test on a 2.5-year-old Skoda Slavia 1.5 TSI Manual, comparing E20 Petrol and XP100 Petrol.

• E20 Petrol (20% Ethanol, ₹112/L)
• XP100 Petrol (0% Ethanol, ₹167/L)

Test 1: 5L E20 Petrol

• Average Speed: 57 km/h
• Distance: 97 km
• Mileage: 19.2 km/l

Test 2: 5L XP100 Petrol

• Average Speed: 61 km/h
• Distance: 116 km
• Mileage: 23.2 km/l

Result:
XP100 covered 19 km more on the same 5 litres, delivering around 21% better mileage in this test.

Govt claim: E20 reduces mileage by 3–5%.

This test: ~19–21% lower mileage with E20.

@ShadanguleP @HardeepSPuri Net saving/profit to exchequer or to citizens is also negative. Neither the fuel prices has reduced after blending, nor the cost of ethanol production is less. Additionally it causes waste of water and severe air pollution, AND performance reduction of engines.
