Sub-Saharan Africa moved $205B in crypto value between June 2024 - July 2025, a 52% year-on-year rise that positions the region as the world’s 3rd-fastest-growing market.
Nigeria led the surge with a $21B spike as of March 2025.

Nigeria’s retail activity stands out: 8% of all crypto volume comes from everyday transfers under $10k, above the 6% global average.
The country also leads stablecoin transfers with $92.1B, nearly triple South Africa’s figure.
