Tired of political hypocrisy. Pro-environment, but not the hijack by Net Zero zealots. Pro business, pro farmers. Hoping common sense prevails. ๐ฌ๐ง UK.
Real environmentalism is about protecting and enhancing wildlife, nature, ecosystems, regenerative farming, photosynthesis and cutting pollution.
Net zero is none of these things. But it does enable governments to facilitate the transfer of huge revenues to major corporations.
@JanetMobbs@DavidTaylor85 You donโt think people who know how to grow money (profit) that they can reinvest to grow a business should be governing the economy?
Civilisation itself rests on a simple arrangement:
Farmers grow food.
Everyone else does something else.
Without the first group, the second group develops a very serious problem.
No Farmers, No Food.
@SlimSugar@TimBirchWild@SheffCouncil Same in my street on outskirts of Birmingham a few days ago. Bloke on one of those spraying the gutters and he was wearing a mask. No warning or anything. Not walking my dogs for at least a week. God knows whatโs been sprayed.
Britain has become dangerously detached from the reality of food production.
Most people are only three missed meals away from discovering how massively important farmers are.
And in the blink of an eye, the government have gone from โwe need to reduce the carbon footprint to save the planet" to "we will build mega AI data centres that massively deplete energy and water suppliesโ.
