Let’s address the elephant in the room because I feel like many people don’t want to have this conversation😳

So the plan is to vote for Sifuna simply because he can help get Ruto out? As long as Ruto is gone, then we’re good? Haven’t we been here before? Isn’t that exactly how Ruto benefited from the anger against Uhuru&Raila ?
And before that, wasn’t Uhuru’s victory also driven in part by a wave of sympathy over the ICC cases and the feeling among many supporters that it was time to stand with him and push back against those they believed were targeting him? Look at how Uhuru’s administration left this country? Haven’t we already seen where voting out of anger or emotion, instead of demanding better leadership, leaves this country?

The next election cannot just be about who is most likely to defeat Ruto. It has to be about who has a clear plan to deal with corruption, protect the Constitution, end abductions and extrajudicial killings, fix our broken healthcare system, reform education, create jobs, reduce the cost of living, tackle public debt, restore independent institutions and ensure there is real accountability in government.

I understand the thinking. The common enemy is Ruto, and the enemy of my enemy quickly becomes a friend. But I refuse to believe that after everything this country has been through, Kenyans are ready to settle for people with serious questions hanging over them simply because they are the fastest route to removing one man from power. A perfect example, Aisha Jumwa😂

We cannot keep voting against someone. At some point, we have to start voting for something. Otherwise, we’ll keep changing faces while the system that keeps failing Kenyans remains exactly the same.

Ruto’s Call for a National Conversation Is a Misplaced Priority

President William Ruto’s proposal to launch a national conversation on Kenya’s development post-Vision 2030 is a clear case of misplaced priority. This is only meant to divert our attention from Ruto’s gross violations of the Constitution and leadership failures that are pressuring him to address.

It is a contradiction that Ruto has the temerity to lecture us about human rights and the patriotic clauses of our Constitution when he has failed to address cases of rampant thuggery and the wanton breakdown of law and order in our country.

Ruto has failed to stop thugs from descending on major highways where they terrorise motorists in broad daylight. It is now routine for armed criminals to boldly pounce on worshippers in churches, while criminals daringly stone political leaders at rallies only to go scot-free.

Above all, we have witnessed a shocking collapse of institutions, most of which have become inert mainly because they are held hostage by the ever-controlling Ruto. His former National Treasury Cabinet Secretary, Prof. Njuguna Ndung’u, has become the latest to confirm that Ruto has reduced state institutions into frightened departments that only obey him rather than the Constitution. This is where the so-called new conversation must start. Does William Ruto have the basic tolerance and the necessary respectful attitude towards public institutions to mobilize the country and steer the so-called new conversation?

Then there is the trust deficit that the Ruto administration has come to epitomize. Then there is the NADCO 10-point plan, the Broad-Based Government, and a legion of unfulfilled promises, etc.

As Kenyans, we must NEVER lose hope. We will turn the page on 10 August 2027 and embark on a more trustworthy journey towards fixing our nation!!

The killing of psychologist Dr Victoria Mutiso is not shocking in the sense that family and property disputes have been killing people across Kenya for years especially in Kisii.

What should trouble us is how normal this has become. Families that once ate together, buried relatives together and shared the same home are now turning against each other over land, houses, inheritance and money.

People are hiring killers, forging documents, threatening siblings and eliminating relatives because they believe death is the easiest way to settle a property dispute. A title deed has become more valuable than blood, and greed has destroyed many families long before the first bullet is fired.

Dr Mutiso’s case should remind Kenyans that some of the greatest dangers people face do not always come from strangers. Sometimes they come from relatives who know your movements, your property and exactly what they expect to gain when you are gone.

Property can be divided, sold or contested in court. A life cannot be returned after relatives choose greed and kill

The next person who wants to lead this country needs to stop telling Kenyans they have a plan. We are tired of hearing about plans. You already know the problems!!
Odious debt, corruption, a broken education system, a struggling health sector, unemployment and the high cost of living and so much more. None of these issues are new. Tell us exactly what you are going to do about them.

Kenyans don’t need another campaign built on slogans and promises. We need specifics, timelines and accountability. Anyone asking for our vote should first tell us, in detail, how they intend to fix this country. We already know the problems. What we’re waiting for are the solutions.

This business of saying, “We’re meeting, we’re consulting, we’ll unveil our agenda when the time is right,” is not going to work anymore. The time is now. Tell Kenyans how you will deal with the debt, what laws you will change to fight corruption, how you will fix public hospitals, what reforms you will make to education, where the money will come from, what you will cut and what you will prioritise.
