This is all great but you put money into her pockets by watching and promoting the show. She has promised to use her power and wealth to cause harm to trans people. The harm she has already caused is immeasurable.
So do you care about being the cause of harm to trans people or
The criticism of the author is legitimate, especially when it involves serious issues like transphobia. I'm LGBT and I also condemn any form of prejudice. There's a valid point in the desire to boycott and in trying to pressure public figures.
Harry Potter, as a work, has long surpassed the figure of the author. It became a global cultural phenomenon, with impact on entire generations, involving billions of fans, professionals, and artists around the world. It's not just about one person... it's about an entire ecosystem that took on a life of its own.
Plus, from a practical standpoint, the idea of a total boycott is null. Even if the whole world stopped consuming, the copyrights, established contracts, and the brand's longevity mean the impact would be minimal or virtually nonexistent. She's going to stay a billionaire and keep collecting on all her brand rights until she dies.
So, if you don't want to consume it, that's totally valid... it's an individual choice. But turning that into attacks on those who do consume it doesn't strengthen the cause. On the contrary: it fragments, creates internal conflict, and diverts the focus.
If the goal is to support the trans community, there are way more concrete and effective ways to do that... like initiatives that create direct impact in people's lives. There are several shelters for trans people in Brazil that need donations and volunteer work, for example. You could use that time you spend on the internet attacking people to amplify the voices of those shelters and get them help.
So, in the end:
Criticize the author with substance and fight for your causes with actions that actually make an impact. Because trying to control or dictate what strangers on the internet are allowed or not allowed to respect or enjoy is going to cause you nothing but disappointment.
