This is the symbol of the Viksit Bharat campaign... For a long time, India ran on luck. In 2014, a change happened. After that, India has been rapidly moving towards becoming a global superpower with a new thinking, new resolve for development, goals and a new roadmap. #WATCH | Srinagar: On their demand for 'Martyrs Day', President of Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party, Altaf Bukhari says, "We are not only demanding a holiday on 13th July, we demand that this be observed as a government function. You may not want to observe it as such, but we do. Permit us, we have applied for it...We want to pay tribute to the martyrs due to whom we are here today. As far as statehood is concerned, this is not a new demand..." (10.07.2025)
#WATCH | Srinagar, J&K: On Martyrs Day Controversy, JK PDP spokesperson Mohammad Iqbal Trumboo says, "This is a created controversy. On July 13, 1931, 22 people were martyred for democracy and the end of autocracy. That's why you see the Chief Minister, ministers, and your government—it's their dream... There should be no problem approving leave for them. Their sacrifice is exemplary, and because of their sacrifices, there is democracy here... We are doing wrong by giving it a religious or other colour. There's no other agenda or contradiction."
#WATCH | Srinagar, J&K: PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti says "You know that in the last 70 years, J&K has been a battleground between India and Pakistan. There have been several wars, everyday there is a new incident. Abida who was injured in a grenade attack succumbed to her injuries yesterday. We have suffered so much loss that can never be compensated...It is said that we have are not fully utilising the Indus water treatment, but whatever we have utilised and the power projects we have built, are they ours? It is BJP's narrative that we should review the treaty and that we should not suspend it. Since we have suffered a lot, the Indian government should compensate for it...Since Rangarajan Committee was handed over to NHPC, at least two power projects should be handed over to Jammu and Kashmir. Instead of questioning the Indus water treatment, we should ask the Indian government to build 2 power projects to solve the problem of power. If it does not happen, compensation should be given. This matter should be resolved between Indian govt and J&K govt. By questioning this we are starting a new battle, we are creating a new fight"
#WATCH | Srinagar, J&K: On formation of the government, National Conference President Farooq Abdullah says, "... Our priority is to solve all issues faced by the people here... We hope we are treated well by the central government and we restore statehood... Restoration of Article 370 will take time but our first job will be restoration of statehood... We will talk to Congress and decide when to take oath... J&K shares its borders with atomic powers like Pakistan and China. The centre needs to realise this. I hope we will get full support in administering the UT."
#WATCH | Srinagar, J&K | On exit poll PDP leader and candidate from Lal Chowk Assembly constituency, Zuhaib Yousf Mir says, " According to us exit polls are not a serious activity but time pass activity. PDP is confident that it will be an indispensable & important part of the secular govt which will form in J&K. We had said that we are ready to take any step to save the identity of Kashmir but for this, it is important that we formulate a secular govt, a govt against BJP not with them. Even if the PDP makes any secular govt by extending support, it will not last long as they(BJP) will try to run this govt in Delhi style..."
A week ago when I yelled ‘Zoon ho’ in Bijbehara I had no clue it would become this viral. For the initiated, Zeun is victory in Kashmiri while as Zoon means the moon. I’m glad the slogan charged up PDP workers who insist I yell it at least a dozen times while campaigning. I am sick of it though🫣
#WATCH | Srinagar, J&K: On Doda attack, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference leader Omar Abdullah says, "... In last one year, a series of continuous attacks has started in Jammu. There is hardly any area in Jammu which is free from militancy... What is the government doing? They have been claiming that the militancy is on its last legs. But we don't see that happening. No one from the government has said what steps would be taken to stop the killings. I hope steps are taken to control the situation. The responsibility has to be set. Who is responsible for controlling the security situation? They (government) have to handle their responsibility..."
