@aditya_gan3500 It’s related. Someone needs to pay for high quality healthcare and I’m happy to contribute if that keeps best standards accessible. But healthcare communism is eroding standards.
@aditya_gan3500 A year of Keytruda costs 10 lacs in India, a cutting edge robotic cancer surgery costs 2-2.5 lacs in pre-fixed schemes (still inaccessible in many universal health programme who needs to justify life’s worth at pop level) in India. If this is costly then..
@aditya_gan3500 I don’t see why the cost of Keytruda has to be a function of a person’s purchasing power. The capital here is healthcare innovation, which Indians aren’t capable of. Yet it’s available at 10 lacs to the richest and the poorest alike. Emptying his bank account to fund some..
@aditya_gan3500 Most people with Cuban and WHO mindset have ulterior motives — healthcare comrades/economists/populists/public servants/political figures/JU graduates/startup founders/Anandabazar Readers/Professors aiming for Padma awards/very broad population of vultures really.
@aditya_gan3500 Normally you make coherent arguments, however this one is blind socialism. Healthcare consultant/health economist and other can’ts (figurative) who do not have any tangible function, detached from the capital of excellence or innovation can make such Cuban renarks.
@jaakhd@theliverdoc Here a lot depends on what you feel or your subjective well-being. Next time try Ayurveda if you have a heart attack or a road traffic accident. “Neuro advised urgent craniotomy but my brain bleed instantly stopped with snayu-churna + Ashtakarma — we don’t get a lot of them.
@sabeer In fact the reading was so extensive that most of us can barely remember anything other than the Mughals. We have had debates as kids about the relative might, and it was always Mughals>Mauryas>All other in our history games. You have to ask the board toppers or high 95ers.
@sabeer This must be a new age thing. In the late 90s and early 2000s we have read volumes on Mughals. In our textbooks the Mughal period was so extraordinary that it demanded hours of extra reading. We went as far as learning about the Mughal stance on Caliphate.
@kanthisback@theliverdoc But the real issue here is in the time I had to waste in educating someone like you who could ask such a question. And I believe it’s not going to help at all.
@kanthisback@theliverdoc Whatever percentage you can see (widely varies by cancer type, stage, and biology) is cured by us. It can be as high as approaching 100% in early stage breast cancer, childhood acute leukaemia, early stage prostate cancer, certain lymphomas, and many others.
@kanthisback@theliverdoc Even in some stage 4 cancers people are living cancer free or in complete control for more than 5 years (lung, kidney, melanoma, breast, ovary and certain gene-addicted or immune-hot type. Doctors themselves, minsters, film stars (who then lie about it 99% times) get these Rx.
Grateful to @myESMO for the opportunity and the recognition, proud to represent India in the fast evolving space of AI in oncology on a global stage.

How often do you find cooked COCKROACH in your pizza? @CafeMezzuna food delivered by @zomato putting health at risk! My request as a cancer surgeon to @fssaiindia@kmc_kolkata to inspect and take necessary action so that people are not harmed.
@VincentRK In India, with private healthcare this timeline is <2 weeks for most cancers. In NDMM from clinical suspicion to full workup including new generation imaging and FISH to treatment initiation it’s usually <2 weeks. Even in state-sponsored healthcare it’s not as slow now.
@samrat@theliverdoc That’s not how preventive health works. Because the intervention (warning against alcohol) adds no negatives, and isn’t resource intensive, whereas the negative effects are often random and and stochastic, the current recommendation is complete avoidance.
@samrat@theliverdoc You drink a glass of wine once in 2 weeks and get a colon cancer that comes back despite treatment. Your life is cut short by 26 years. At that same level of drinking most don’t get lethal diseases, so the average is in days.
Evidence = no amount of alcohol or tobacco is safe.
