Oversharing your plans isn't smart.
Here's why:
You know that dopamine is the brain's magic potion, the source of pleasure and motivation.
Now, when you talk about your goals, your brain releases some dopamine.
It feels great, mimicking a taste of success.
But this also tricks your brain.
It makes you feel like you've already accomplished your goals, reducing your motivation to actually work for them.
Oversharing your goals makes you feel like you've won a race before it even starts.
Feeling victorious, you simply stop racing.
The smart move is to be discreet about your goals.
Plan in private. Work in private. And achieve in private.
Stay focused on you.
Enjoy the race instead of just the warm-up act.
