@OleMiss_Rebel83 @JMcNallyBooks Exactly why it didn’t land for me on my first read through earlier this year. I finished it, but it was difficult at times. The gruesome descriptions often felt like they were just for brutality sake, at the expense of narrative. I wondered if I just didn’t “get it”
