As fireworks light up neighbourhoods in Burlington and Halton this evening, we share Diwali greetings on this auspicious day in the multiday Diwali festival shared by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and some Buddhists.
As our National Day for Truth & Reconciliation ends, may we reconcile the prejudices of Canada's colonial past with present-day opportunities to fulfil Canada's destiny. Think diversity & equity. And then ask what each of us can do to ensure "the future of Canada is very great"!!
@RalphPeacock46@JaroGiesbrecht Nonetheless, it is appropriate and reasonable to express dismay and even a certain amount of anger at this type of behaviour from fellow Canadians. Yes, we need to try to understand their point of view and frustration, but to do this doesn’t mean their behaviour is excusable!

The Holocaust is one of the darkest chapters in human history. Known in Hebrew as the Shoah, it murdered millions of Jews and others who were dehumanized by Nazi propaganda. Most victims of the Holocaust don’t have graves, but many names are remembered through sunset April 28th.
April 28th is a day to remember workers in Burlington, Halton and across Canada, who died or were injured on the job; to resolve the issues that caused these type of accidents; and to prevent such loses happening again.
The war in Ukraine is not just ravaging a nation and a people. It's polluting our planet. Spaceship earth is our precious pearl in the cosmos. It protects and nurtures us. For that to continue, we must do the same for it.
How can we do stuff differently. On World Innovation Day, the United Nations wants us to think outside the box about how we can advance the UN's 'global goals', of which which World Peace is now front and centre It's not whether we can make it happen, but how soon?
As Russia ravages Ukraine, join peace advocates at St. Christopher's church to support a concert for Ukraine. A suggested donation of $20 / person goes to the Canada Ukraine Foundation. Donate in advance at the website https://t.co/RFcy5EDtBA and get a charitable tax receipt.
