I don’t know why it’s so hard to believe. We used to value our craftsmen and they pushed themselves to extremes. Filmmaking wasn’t invented in 2010, all the great innovations were 90-100+ years ago.
What’s truly hard to believe is the shite that gets passed for art today in 2026.
Actually this is also why we're stuck in remake/reboot hell, young people with new ideas aren't allowed into the industry anymore.
Japan constantly scouts new talent while in the US it's just nepotism now.
are we gonna have to hear about how bad andor fans are for having standards every time Filoni releases a new dumpster fire that makes secret invasion look good
Everyone is always rooting for you. Your parents want you to be a great son. Wife wants you to be a great husband. Your boss wants you to be a slam dunk hire. Every first date you’ve ever been on they’ve been rooting for you to get laid. Every time you started to tell a joke people hoped it would have a hilarious punch line. Your proximity to anyone is a reflection of themself, meaning the deck is never stacked against you, and your failures are completely your own
Yes it’s a story about redemption. Saving his fathers soul from the underworld. It’s funny that when most shows try to do this they lose the redemption angle and just go with “killing is bad.” Another example of the loss of mythological language.
Luke and Anakin were in their early 20s rescuing pretty women from cool armies. The Mandalorian is cool looking but a 50 year old with no romantic interests fighting against the same guys from the 80s while being a single dad is the most boomer coded story you could think of.
For some who might be wondering why people are having such strong reactions against this:
Well....one of the defining characteristics of Deadpool became how he broke the Fourth Wall. Now it doesn't feel like Deadpool without it.
Batman suddenly being a pacifist is a perversion of the character. He was literally born in murder to fight crime and avenge wrongful death.
So, Peter Parker is known from the comics for his extensive internal dialogue and self-talk. From the beginning.
#SpiderMan🕷️
He then turns that into quippy external verbal jabs to anger his foes and throw them off balance.
He also has always had friends, both as Peter and as Spidey.
.....So the idea of him being so lonely and pathetic that an AI bot is "the closest thing he has to a friend"🙄 is just ridiculous and feels like a violation of the character.
President Trump has full authority over the Vatican, and with Christ as his deputy, he’ll make sure the Pope is properly arrested for blasphemy against our political leaders.
Reminder: The artist behind Frieren, Abe Tsukasa, has explicitly asked people not to use their artwork for AI training, even for personal use. Ignoring artists’ clear wishes isn’t “innovation,” it’s disrespect.
