For those who joined my little trek into History and wish to follow along, I am abandoning this ship for another:
@onecalledtheo.bsky.social
It's been months since I've streamed, and it may be some time before I do again, but I'll be back. There's still so many games to play.
"Theo? Now that's a name I've not heard in a long time."
Soon, Historians, I will be streaming again, albeit with a more relaxed schedule. I've missed you all terribly.
On August 1st, I will be playing A Link to the Past (1991), but I might pop in before then. See you in class!
Another reminder of my age:
Since I moved to this city 24 years ago, I've seen billboard ads for a local attorney, and he has aged *drastically*. I knew him as a mid-40's guy with a slightly receding hairline.
I saw one of his signs today, and he's now 70 with a combover.
@OniGiriTTV Allllllrighty let's see.
The messenger is on the list. Elden Ring is a tough ask, given how the Souls-likes hate me, Hades is a definite yes, and I'm surprised to see Armored Core. The rest I've either never heard of or heard too much of.
Undertale. It's Undertale.
So, my extended sabbatical is coming to an end soon, and I have a new high-powered PC.
So I turn to you, Historians, for recommendations for games I've missed by being an old curmudgeon. Suggest some games from the last 10 years that you consider 'great'.
One of the little joys of working a government job I realized today is that no one has told me "I'm never coming here again" in two years.
Honey, my darling idiot child... We're the government. Sooner or later I'm going to see your ass again. Promise.
Good Afternoon, Historians! Class will be at 4:00 this afternoon. I would like to make some progress today and there is a fair amount of material to cover. See you there.
I know I was gone a while, but I'm back now. Let's resume where we left off, shall we?

HISTORIANS! A minor adjustment to the Curriculum.
As my D&D group appears to have either broken up or otherwise gone on hiatus, I am moving the YotC lessons back to Sundays at 3 or 4pm EST.
Classes resume tomorrow with more FFIX (2000). Come to class and learn ya something!
... And so will I, in time. Distance is not death. Farewell is not Goodbye. And we even parted with our customary "see ya later."
But for now, I am wounded to the quick. The World I Grew Up In Still Exists... But damned if it doesn't get further away with every passing year. 4/4
I bid a farewell to my oldest friend today. He's leaving for the other side of the country. I know not if I'll see him again.
Historians, take heed: keep close the ones you treasure, for you know not when their part in your story will end, either from death or distance. 1/4
Seeing that house empty, as he packed the last of his things into a truck, hurt me terribly. I say here with no shame that I shed tears as I was leaving realizing I'd never be down that street again.
He's going to be fine, I think. His spouse loves him and will care for him. 3/4
