FL Studio Beginner mistake.

Slamming everything through Fruity Soft Clipper can introduce aliasing (unwanted frequencies).

This sine wave is ~5kHz and it should show only one frequency, but we see many.

That's aliasing.

Try Fruity Waveshaper at 16X oversampling.

Most music producers misunderstand soft clipping.

Soft clipping rounds the edges near 0dB.

Hard clipping 'squares off' the edges near 0dB.

Soft clipping can require lots of gain to get the full effect.

Soft clipping on left, harder clipping on right.

Music Producers, gain staging is important.

Try using Fruity Limiter 'SAT' knob by turning it to the left.

Then, turn DOWN the gain on the left. This way, you don't chop off too much transient sound.

Even though waveform looks smaller, you can add gain AFTER the plugin.

Mastering tip for Music Producers.

Use expansion instead of compression, it will open up your beats.
