@s_valentinearts Exactly, it's a tool, and like any other tool, it can be used with malicious intentions. What stops someone from purposely using AI to try and replace an artist in order to get money out of their public, even after never drawing a single doodle in their life?

@Miles_DF I'm sure there's a lawsuit going on at the moment. Anyway, I'm not trying to convince you on anything, but to try and give some insight. Specially cause the train doesn't go one way only. AI can't complain about being criticized if they criticize artists protecting their trade

@s_valentinearts So that makes it okay? There's a difference between learning and imitating from. One thing is to take elements from another artist to learn and add to your own personal style, and another is to pull the rug from under their feet so you can take their place as a "better option"

@Miles_DF If AI developers were confident in their product, they'd compromise to remunerate artists for their work, but they don't, because that'd be less money for them
If AI wasn't about money, they wouldn't be fighting to push it as hard as artists are fighting to protect their own work

@Miles_DF Now that's precious. Some people live day by day with the commissions they sell. You can't call other artists mercantilists if AI strives to earn money just like them. If AI was a charity, they'd rather code 10000 lines to teach it to draw hands instead of pumping art to analyze

@Miles_DF AI wouldn't move forward as fast if they wouldn't use other people's work to analyze and imitate, so they prefer to use unauthorized works to speed up the process. Long story short, they're using other people's works instead of improving their own technology by themselves

@Miles_DF Pretty sure it isn't so much about mistaking AI art for someone's work, but rather about their own work being used to train AI without their consent. People can train their AI for all I care, but what entitles them to use work from others without permission for their benefit?
