@thebookleo It is a way of embracing what has caused you to be rejected, and shoving it down people's throats. I got judged at work for dressing feminine (women who wear skirts and makeup are less intelligent apparently), and that made me want to dress even more feminine.

@thebookleo If you look at the subreddit r/girlgamers, most of the setups posted there also fit this hyperfeminine aesthetic. I think you hit the nail right on the head. It's a way of rejecting a culture as much as possible, as a stubborn 'fuck you' to the gamerbros
