@MrsT1302 I've been down that hole. Please use your access to free counseling services as well as talking to a trusted friend. Even if its just to rant/vent. I almost broke and ended up leaving the classroom. Please talk. Dm is open if needed
@ConsoomerLs Dear Brenda, you've said I'm not abusing the slotted time, so tell me what behaviour needs 2b corrected? I'm a team player & taking a full break ensures I'm fully rested & 100% able 2 support my work fam. W/o full rest, my perf wd go down & we'd be having a diff conversation.
A gentle reminder for parents this World Book Day 📚 The costume is fun. But please don’t put any more pressure or stress on yourself about it. The real magic? 15 minutes. No distractions. Just you, your child and a story. That’s what makes the difference.
@MissHackworthK Sorry, but just plain no. This is wrong on so many levels. On a Sunday, in holidays. Where's the work/life balance for both you and the students? THIS is what breaks staff.
@johncosgrove405@amanda_spielman Hi John. While there may not be belief that schools CAN fix the problems, the EXPECTATION is that they will. Take latest idea that schools teach kids about misogyny and violence against women. Not that I'm against the idea, but what subjects will drop to do so? Why schools job?
@primaryteachew I still write them, but hand deliver whenever possible as the escalation in postage costs is just ridiculous. I used to send out between 50 and 60. Now I'm lucky if I'll post 20. I have pretty much stopped sending cards to friends abroad, but instead do a video note.
🧵 [1] I led Remembrance assemblies this week, and have been supporting the organisation of our Armistice Day Remembrance service at Woodfields next week.
As a veteran, this is what I want kids to know - "Remembrance is a verb".

@ShakinthatChalk@magicmacdougal Sorry. In Scotland we only do(did) 6 years at secondary. 7 years at primary. So 12 when we start. That extra year just seemed to give a bit more chance for us. Maybe look at that model.
I left the classroom July 2023. Just got this from my previous partner teacher.
2 boys came to collect science books from me. Current Y6 - Your old y3 class. I said, "I can't believe you are y6, I remember when you were in Mr M's class."
