As a result of previous accidents, he had been dealing with neck and back pain for a long time.😣

2008 .. During the rehearsal of on Music Bank, Yesung fell off the 1.5-1.8 meter stage while performing Pajama Party. It is said that Yesung isn’t injured severely but he did complain that there was pain in his neck, head, and waist. He was rushed to the hospital upon this injury and stayed in hospital for further check-ups.

2011 .. While Filming Dream Team Season 2, he fell from one of the platforms (which had been repaired twice) to the safety foam and at that time no one knew he was seriously injured. He actually had injured his waist and leg.. The staff took him to the tend backstage and laid him down on a table because the doctor didn’t allow him to sit.

Yesung was taken to the hospital where it has been revealed that he actually injured his spine.

2021 .. Apparently, he went to the hospital due to the severe pain on his neck. He needed surgery but didn't want to do it then as he wanted to promote with Super Junior for the upcoming come back.

Yesung was transferred to a hospital because of his herniated disc on the neck, he's going to check it and see the possibility of a surgery.

'Beautiful Night' Era, he revealed ..
" When he was recording “A Letter in the Wind,” he was dealing with severe pain from his neck discs, and it hurt so much every time he sang a high note."

After their encore shows he had the opportunity to take time to deal with his pain, go to hospital and have it seen to. So happy for him.

In January 2026 SUJU had Mega Coffee fansign event 🥤however Yesung had to leave earlier because he had a small procedure in the morning due to his herniated disc.

In late June 2026, he updated fans on Instagram and Bubble after returning from Japan straight to the hospital, sharing that his procedure for a worsening herniated disc was successfully completed.
