@SaffronOlive Seth, big fan of your content, but do you know what the prize structure is for other tcg’s that give out these promos? Not picking on you, it just seems everybody keeps parroting this while being unaware of what other tcg’s prizing actually ends up being
@rcondon_@fireshoes You to qualify anymore. And a lot of it has to do with the comp scene already being niche as is, so why not run 2000+ person premier events and give players the easiness of accessibility to said tournaments? I just think asking for more money to be funded to PT’s is unrealistic.
@rcondon_@fireshoes This is why PT/GP’s felt and probably were bigger deals as opposed to now. In saying that, the qualification process feels like something that just stayed around from a bygone era. There’s a reason Yugioh doesn’t do qualifications anymore, or why new TCG’s don’t require (2/3)
@rcondon_@fireshoes In terms of? The only thing that differs is the qualification aspect of competitive MTG vs Yugioh, OPTCG, Gundam etc. Also, as much as I love and enjoy comp mtg, we need to realize that the top comp scene across all tcg’s, is the most niche part of TCG’s nowadays
@SaffronOlive I mean, it’s obvious to everybody besides mtg boomers, UB has done wonders to turn mtg from a niche tcg, into the premier tcg for casuals, with an already established competitive scene. People just hate when their niche hobby turns popular for some reason.
@infernoman64 People say they want blocks back, but every recent attempt at a 2 set block has been shitted on by the community. See Innistrad Midnight Hunt + Innistrad Crimson Vow or Dom United + Brothers War or March of the Machines + Aftermath.
@Chosler@LeFeverSax@MillThat Also, just to add to this, Donato’s main complain is about the Digital Only Art contract, when that’s likely completely out of WotC’s hands, and moreso a restriction from the collabing IP.
@Chosler@LeFeverSax@MillThat It’s not 1250 per card, it’s 1250 additional, so around 1550-1800 per card going off his own estimates. So they’re paying artists 3-5 times more for UB arts
@djradicalkid@Mengu09 True, but also the cards serve different purposes. Bankbuster had varied use across different strategies, not just control, you’re not throwing mazemind tome in any midrange/tempo strat and feeling good about it
@MSUHitman@adamwasmo I think this is a fine criticism to have, and thought I do love my draft/sealed environments, TMNT is a very good set design for the standard meta, and certain cards may trickle down to modern (like for affinity). It also gave us one of the best commander tool boxes in the deck.
@Marcus51582556@strawhatzuffy Since Mangas are meant to be read, you can jump between shots of action without context being given, and it can be understood. An anime adaptation’s job, is to add that context to enhance that source material. This particular scene does that, as do others in Wano specifically.
@Dooter611@jabjabber_ I’ve been playing a version of Harmonizer myself that I’ve reached numbered mythic with on Arena, how do you feel about songcrafter as an option?
