Tomorrow OSA takes a giant leap towards allowing Independents to stand for election.
We'll be filing our papers in the Constitutional Court to overturn the current Electoral Act.
Stay tuned!
To all OSA activists - please follow @BuildOneSA - the political party led by Mmusi Maimane that will be on the ballot paper to vote for in next year’s national elections.
It’s time to elect proven and capable leaders into government.
28 years into our democracy, and today we are faced with the very real threat of an electoral system that is anti-democratic and unconstitutional. At its core it says that some people’s votes matter and others don’t.
This is everything that is wrong with our current political system, power sits with political parties and not with the people. The public being active citizens and not allowing Parliament to defile the constitution is not bullying. It’s called public participation and democracy.
If the @MYANC caucus & other party MPs choose to pass the irrational, flawed and UNFAIR #ElectoralAmendmentBill today, the pressure will have to move to asking @CyrilRamaphosa to #RejecttheBill.
We deserve a constitutional voting system that is one person one VOTE of EQUAL VALUE
"Mmusi Maimane said Parliament should be charged with contempt of court with regards to its handling of the Electoral Amendment Bill.
He said Parliament has sabotaged the process to protect political parties in breach of a Constitutional Court order"

Tomorrow Parliament will - against all good sense - pass a new law that will change the way we vote in elections.
The Electoral Amendment Bill is fatally flawed and unconstitutional
Have your say and tell MPs to #RejectTheBill in Parliament tomorrow - https://t.co/qZ0RNdaucx
