The new year is off to an awesome heart-focused start! π This week our foundation team worked with the safety team at Taylor High School and Three Rivers Local School District to place 14 new ZOLL AEDs on campus. The addition of these AEDs will help ensure students, staff, and faculty have access to lifesaving equipment should a cardiac emergency occur onsite.
How Kentucky athlete Matthew Mangine Jr. inspired hands-only CPR in Wisconsin.
βWe hope we never need it. But if we do, we want to know we were ready.β

Last Friday, 20-year-old @weareangelcity defender Savy King collapsed on-field during a NWSL match. Fortunately, she received medical attention immediately and had heart surgery this week after doctors determined she had a heart abnormality. Her family released a statement that Savy's prognosis is "excellent."
Cardiac emergencies can happen to anyone at any time and anywhere. Heart screenings can help you and your doctor identify potential problems before they develop into more serious conditions. And making sure you know how to perform CPR and use an AED can help you spring into action quickly if someone near you has a cardiac emergency. Being proactive with heart health can literally save a life.

Last week, we spoke with students and staff at McNicholas High School in Cincinnati. During our visit, we donated a weather-resistant AED that will improve the school's ability to respond to cardiac emergencies, should they occur on campus. Thank you, Rockets, for having us!

We loved spotting an AED in Crescent Springs' Lou Hartfiel Memorial Park. The park offers walking trails, a basketball court, soccer field, & picnic areas, so the AED can literally help save a life if someone in the park experiences a cardiac emergency. Does your favorite park have an AED easily accessible? #AED #hearthealth #emergencyresponse #outdoorrecreation

He was joined on field by One Shot Foundation Ambassador Canen Dickman. Coach Sprunger saved Canen's life in 2023 when Canen went into cardiac arrest on the WKHS track during soccer practice. We celebrate both of you for the awareness you're bringing to cardiac emergency preparedness!
Our 2024 Lifesaver of the Year Award recipient, Worthington Kilbourne High School teacher and coach Jon Sprunger, was recognized as a Hometown Hero at the Columbus Crew game on Saturday. β½ Congratulations, Coach Sprunger!

British tennis player Fran Jones collapsed during the third set of her match in Bogota on Tuesday. She went to serve, stumbled and fell to the court.
She attributed her collapse to not acclimating to the high-altitude conditions. #SaferSidelines

We love seeing AEDs easily accessible in public, like this one in Fort Thomasβ Tower Park. Located at Shelter 1, right next to restrooms & the playground, the AED is in a highly trafficked, visible area where it can be easily grabbed in a cardiac emergency. #AED#hearthealth#nky
