The #Bears will be using more 13 personnel in 2026 and this 2-point conversion playcall from the Wild Card win against #Packers serves as an example of why Ben Johnson made such a push to draft Sam Roush.
The most underrated part of this play is that Green Bay is expecting run, especially with Theo Benedet lined up as the third tackle next to Darnell Wright.
Chicago then shifts into an unbalanced spread formation, creating a numbers advantage and forcing GB to use LBs to cover tight ends.
Masterclass by Ben Johnson here. I’d argue that this was one of the most underrated playcalls from the 2025 season.

Which legendary tight end does he remind you of…?
🧐🧐🧐
@TTS_CAM3@BearsNationCHI Venus was drafted late enough that while he sucked, he was a 3rd round pick.
Floyd was solid. Not great for a top 10 pick, but you could do significantly worse.
Chris Williams was so soft, it was frustrating
@BeardedRyno15@BearsNationCHI Same. I remember pre combine he was being talked about as a guy that’d be a potential day 3 steal that could sneak into the back end of day 2. And for some reason Emery took him top 20 SMH
@ChiBearsMuse Matt Barkley? Is he too bad? Or not loved enough? He had a good stretch for us at the end of 2016. I remember some fans talking about bringing him back to compete for a starting job.
@chisportsfan18 @AdamFerrellNFL @BedardSZN It’s pretty obvious IMO. We’d have to throw in this year’s 2nd rounder as well to have an offer comparable to the Ravens’ offer.
