A big thank you to the Belgrave Business Association and Festivals Council for inviting us to their Pre-Diwali celebration
It’s an injustice for the Diwali celebrations to be cut by @Leicester_News but today we saw our communities getting together to forge a path forward 🪔
Seems that the Diwali lights will be switched on this Thursday…without a celebration.
I hope the community and local businesses still make an evening of it and show @Leicester_News the big mistake they made!
@ShivaniRaja_LE will you be there??
Terrible news for the city and the community
The Council should have stepped in to support its funding instead of another vanity project in the museum ❌
Is this the start of the end for festivals?
Diwali and Christmas are at risk too 🤷🏽♂️
My thanks to all my supporters for the amazing work they did in the campaign. My brilliant agent Di Cank and the inspirational Leader of @Oneleicsparty@rita_patel_. I warmly congratulate the new MP for Leicester East @ShivaniRaja_LE. I wish her well. It is a great victory. 👏
A defiant message from one of Rushey Mead’s most prominent and respected entrepreneurs, Mr Dinesh Kotecha☀️

14,000 people are unemployed in Leicester
The city has suffered a lack of funding & investment due to party politics
As a small business owner, I understand what it takes to drive investment locally and create jobs.
For more jobs in Leicester West, Vote Rahoul Naik ✅
The residents of Leicester West have had to face a disservice for decades from their MPs
Not only are they invisible, they have always had political aspirations & had to vote with their party to save face
I have the clear conscience of being able to truly vote for you ✊
Just 9% of the British public say they trust politicians
After Clegg, BoJo, Farage, Brexit & Starmer’s U-turns - it’s easy to see why
The stench of Westminster has left the bubble & we will not stand for it
Change starts with a local party working for local people ✊
Great turnout today outside City Hall to protest @Leicester_News’s decision to cut £1m Adventure Playground funding.
C&YP Scrutiny happening inside…Will the City Mayor ignore the community and young peoples’ voices?
@WoodgateAP@fray2lisa
This is the consequence of the racist & anti-immigration sentiment spouted out by the likes of Farage.
We’re a proud, multicultural city with a wealth of languages & cultures!
It’s the local Labour govt here hiking taxes, their salaries whilst cutting public services!
The irony of Starmer speaking of doing politics ‘differently’ & being ‘tolerant on different views’
Didn’t seem so different or tolerant with @HackneyAbbott, @faizashaheen or the 19 deselected councillors in Leicester 🤷🏽♂️
Is he taking us for a ride? 🙄
