@forsureafedera Some men like act “rational” and above emotion while talking down to others and telling them what they should accept. The stats for SA and rape in our country are horrific. Comparing it to any other country is unnecessary. I don’t understand why they felt it necessary to do.
@BrotherOfBroth6 @forsureafedera @mikchermom @IbtihajMuhammad These figures do not take into account unreported incidents. That heavily skews statistics. Especially in countries where being a victim is stigmatized and punished and where people fear or distrust the police. It’s interesting though.
@BrotherOfBroth6 @viewtiful_moe @forsureafedera @mikchermom @IbtihajMuhammad Well, I’m glad you’re not being glib. But I stand by what I’ve said. Even if we’re marginally better, we’re still doing a very bad job.
@BrotherOfBroth6 @viewtiful_moe @forsureafedera @mikchermom @IbtihajMuhammad This is supposed to disprove what part of what I’ve said? I’ve been through it. I was in a support group. I know that the way you’re treated by police and prosecutors is traumatizing firsthand.
@BrotherOfBroth6 @forsureafedera @mikchermom @IbtihajMuhammad Being marginally better doesn’t make it good by any means. That’s my point. I don’t honestly think the US handles SA better and I’d like to see some statistics if you have proof.
@SCoy62 @forsureafedera @mikchermom @IbtihajMuhammad We don’t automatically assume people who’ve had their cars stolen are lying. We don’t assume victims of arson are lying. If we could stop automatically assuming that rape victims are lying, that’d be a start.
@SCoy62 @forsureafedera @mikchermom @IbtihajMuhammad False allegations are on par with pretty much every other crime. The FBI even includes victims who recant their stories out of fear or frustration with the “justice” system in their statistic.
