While the community is still boycotting Target Jay-Z puts the money first, principles second. But we know the script by heart now. As soon as the backlash starts getting loud and people start asking real questions about where his loyalties actually lie, he’ll trot Beyoncé out for a big “we’re so in love” moment, like she’s his human shield, a surprise joint appearance, some new “power couple” content, or she’ll suddenly have a big performance/rollout. The same way he’s done every other time he’s been caught in some shady business move or community betrayal
Distract the masses. Keep the spotlight on the fairy tale marriage while he keeps making moves that don’t benefit the people who built him. It’s the oldest trick in the book and y’all still fall for it every single time
The distractions are coming. Don’t get played again
Fans react as 56-year-old Jay-Z is seen with Drake’s signature braid style shortly after dissing him in his Roots Picnic freestyle, where he said he never looked up to Drake while also claiming Drake looked up to him.
It should be noted that Drake did not switch up his hairstyle due to lace front rumors.
There are people who defend Diddy, people who still defend Jay-Z despite his name being in the Epstein files, and people who defend Desiree Perez. Yet when Barbs defend Nicki Minaj, suddenly it’s treated like a major issue. Y’all really don’t see the double standard?
Jay-Z has NEVER been for Black culture, always the bag and himself
He’s downplaying the ongoing Black boycott of Target by partnering for an exclusive anniversary vinyl drop but this. Isn’t the first time he’s done something like this besides the NFL
His Barneys 2013 incident is resurfacing where the store racially profiled Black shoppers. 19-year-old Trayon Christian bought a $390 belt with his own debit card + receipt, cops still handcuffed and detained him for “fraud.” Same happened to Kayla Phillips after buying a luxury purse. Jay-Z had a partnership with Barneys, ignored calls to drop the deal, and chose to “work from within” while they boosted donations to his foundation
Profits over the culture. Every time
So is his lawyer Alex Spiro
So is his law firm Reed Smith
So is his wife Beyoncé
So is his mentor Russell Simmons
So is his best friend Harvey Weinstein
