@RickPetree One of the key features of authoritarian regimes is to never self examine or ever admit failure. There is a stamping out of any negative feedback, so they never learn how to evolve and get better.
@jacqui96932700@Scaramucci It doesn't matter whether he technically had dementia or not. He was absolutely, clearly unfit to do the job and take on Trump in that contest. I wasn't sure until I saw the debate, then it was totally obvious and Minnesota and Virginia became toss-ups. But it was too late.
@jacqui96932700 I've lost loved ones. If someone asked me the dates of when they died and their job titles etc. I really don't think I'd struggle. And it's not about the subject matter. He introduced Zelensky as Putin. This is the leader of the free world we're talking about!
@jacqui96932700@secupp You saw Biden at the debate and thought he was OK to continue to present as the alternative to Trump. There were not enough people around Biden way before then to prioritise America, and by extension, global stability ahead of personal loyalty.
@MasterKlump@PolitlcsUK@Telegraph Absolutely right. Unfortunately, this is another import from Trump in the US. There is a constant highlighting of awful individual crimes by immigrants to make a broader political point. This kind of scapegoating is incredibly toxic and will bring more riots.
Let's be honest here: This was an across-the-board shift away from the Democratic Party. Not just one demo (though Hispanics shifted the most). Two main reasons: Inflation and Democratic priorities and language that just doesn't appeal to non-college people (esp. men).
@krystalball This is a fallacy. Bernie Sanders isn't even popular with working class people. He's popular with wealthy very liberal people. Just look at how he has done in democratic primaries.
@TristanSnell The outstanding vote was all mail-in which was known to be heavily democratic. We've also heard virtually nothing from the Harris campaign.
@jacqui96932700@barriecassidy It's much more like 2016 when we knew within a day. I'm pretty devastated and I'm glad I'm not there right now, even though the consequences will be global.
@jacqui96932700@barriecassidy The devastating answer is.......it's not that close. They are also counting a lot faster because there are fewer mail in ballots to count. Trump only needs one rust belt state and Harris needs all 3 (assuming the sun belt goes as expected).
