XerisCoin: We Just Killed the Blockchain Trilemma My name is Zachary, and for the last year my team and I have been building something that most people said was impossible: a Layer 1 blockchain that is fully decentralized, militarily secure, and actually fast – all at the same time. Today I can finally say it out loud: XerisCoin solves the trilemma. Not on a slide deck. Not in a whitepaper. In production code that’s been running 24/7 on our private testnet for months. Here’s what we actually shipped. We took three battle-tested ideas and glued them together in a way nobody has ever done before (that’s why the patent is already pending): 1. Proof-of-History as a pure 400 ms clock – no leader schedule, no central timing authority, just an unstoppable local SHA-256 chain every node runs itself. 2. Open Proof-of-Work – every single slot is an open scrypt race. If you have 1,000 XRS staked and a GPU (or even a laptop), you can propose the very next block. No permission, no rotation, no cartel. 3. Instant Proof-of-Stake finality – the second an honest node sees a valid block, it automatically commits 100% of its stake to it. No extra vote transactions. The moment any chain prefix collects 66.67% of total stake weight, it becomes economically irreversible forever. That combination is the trick. Most chains force you to choose: Bitcoin gives you decentralization + security but crawls at 7 TPS. Solana gives you speed + security but hands block production to a tiny club of 20–30 validators. Ethereum gives you decentralization + security but chokes at 30 TPS real-world. XerisCoin refuses to choose. Right now our testnet is sustaining 4-6k TPS with 50 nodes spread across the country, resolving five-way forks in under two seconds, and difficulty auto-adjusting the moment a swarm of RTX 4090s jumps in. And because finality is stake-weighted, you would need to control more than a third of all staked XRS to even attempt a revert – something that gets exponentially more expensive every day with our hard-capped 700 million supply. We’re not “Solana but better.” We’re not “Bitcoin but faster.” We’re the first chain that took the best property from each and threw away the garbage. • More decentralized than Solana (anyone can propose every slot) • More secure than Bitcoin (33% attack is mathematically impossible after finality) • Faster than both combined (400 ms slots + parallel Rust ledger already hitting 10k+ TPS local) The patent covers the exact way these three mechanisms talk to each other – open stake-gated PoW with automatic supermajority PoS overlay.
