I plan on sharing my whole homesteading experience on here. Everything I learn both successes and failures. Will also share the food I make and eventually recipes! Looking to follow and learn from other homesteaders on this platform 🤝🏻
Adding Solar Kiln to the list of things I must have on my homestead
We recently got into making our own spices and this would be perfect for not only drying peppers for spices, but also drying wood
The significantly noticeable difference between our cayenne pepper and store bought absolutely blew our minds
After tasting the difference, we decided we want to make as many of our own spices as possible in the future
It is such a noticeable difference in texture, color and taste
We had about 3 cayenne pepper plants this year
I love growing all kinds of peppers so I had no real plan with what to do with these
We harvested the bulk of them, pulled out the dehydrator and let them dehydrate on 165 for 10 hours
Grinded them up and made our own cayenne pepper seasoning!
We’ve been renting this homestead from my uncle this past year
we are looking to close on it by the EOY
it’s looking like it’s going to workout, but my stomach has been turning in anticipation to make this land officially mine
I truly believe buying this homestead will be the single best decision I ever make
it’s rural, but not too far from a ‘big city’
i’m getting married next year then we want to start a family right away
this is the perfect environment to raise some good kids in an ever growing disconnected world
I’m thinking of streaming the work I do around the farm here on X
would do it after my day job maybe 2-3 times a week for 2-4 hours
just a thought, gonna consider it
