Anytime Nyesom Wike talks about integrity and character in politics, I usually randomly go back to some of his speeches before he started.

On separate dates, March 19, 2021 and September 28, 2021, Wike was asked while commissioning a project if he would ever support APC.

Nyesom Wike: “I prefer to stay where there is malaria than to go to where there is cancer. Malaria is treatable; cancer at Stage 4, you are likely to die.”

In February 2018, Wike alleged that APC was purposely trying to reduce the population of Rivers by ignoring the environmental soot crisis in Rivers.

On March 28, 2022, while addressing the media, Nyesom Wike said: “APC has failed Nigeria completely. They promised to change everything, but the only change they brought was hardship, hunger, and insecurity.”

On August 16, 2022, while inaugurating the newly constructed lounge at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, Nyesom Wike said: “Only one person can be a minister from a state. I will not be a minister. I will not. I will not. I am not a liability, Rivers State is an asset.”

The list is just endless.

This is why none of Wike’s talk on character and integrity ever enters my ears.
