It is my pleasure to announce that we have officially commissioned the landmark Nnenna Oti Bus Terminal in Umuahia, and it is now ready for public use. The project is a multimodal transport hub designed to accommodate more than 340 buses at once, powered by sustainable infrastructure and connected to our growing network of electric buses.
The facility is named in honour of Prof. Nnenna Nnennaya‑Oti, the courageous INEC Returning Officer in the 2023 governorship election, whose integrity and patriotism remind us that ordinary people can achieve extraordinary results by simply standing for the truth.
Her name on this terminal is not just about one person, but a tribute to all electoral officials, security operatives, party agents, and citizens who resisted intimidation and defended democracy.
With 20 electric buses already in operation and more on the way in the coming weeks, the project signals our bold vision for a modern, safe, and sustainable transport system in Abia. The facility is also supported with independent power and water systems to ensure uninterrupted operations.
In my address titled “Raising the Bar”, I stated unequivocally that we have moved beyond the era of small ambitions. We refuse to be boxed into margins that underestimate our strength. This principle underpins all our undertakings.
I extend special commendation to the contractors, Planet Projects Limited, for a job well done in delivering this landmark facility. I also appreciate the dedication of the Commissioner for Transport, Dr. Chimezie Ukaegbu, the SSA Transport, Dr. Obioma Nwaogbe, and their team for the critical role they played in bringing this vision to reality.
I call on all residents and members of the host community to take ownership of this facility, to maintain a clean environment, and to guard against vandalism. This terminal belongs to you, and its success depends on your care. I also urge all Abians to pay their taxes regularly. Development cannot be sustained without collective responsibility, and every naira contributed helps us deliver the future our people deserve.
I interviewed people for Shell for years.
Here’s how to get in. 🧵
These tips will help you for other O&G companies too because they basically copy each other.
Same concepts. Different buzz words.
Good morning, happy Sunday and Happy New Month. May this new month be fruitful and successful, and may it be filled with God's abundant blessings. Amen.
The Lenacapavir injection that prevents HIV is finally in Nigeria. This is a massive win for HIV prevention.
But Emeka and Nkechi, here are a few things you should know before you get it:
1. It does not prevent pregnancy, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, or Hepatitis B. So while you’re protected from HIV, you’re not immune to other STIs. You still need to use your condom abeg.
2. You MUST test negative for HIV before taking it. If you take it while secretly infected, the virus can mutate and become highly resistant to future treatments.
3. It is strictly for PREVENTION (PrEP), it is not a cure for HIV.
4. The ₦58,000 price is a subsidized target. Please, do not go and buy fake from a random unverified chemist because you saw it’s cheaper.

THE LIGHT OF CHRISTMAS
Being the Text of the 2025 Christmas Message by Governor Alex C. Otti, OFR, on December 25, 2025
1. Umunne m ndi Abia, I bring you joyful greetings this Christmas morning. On this great day when we celebrate the anniversary of the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, it is only proper that we begin on a note of generous gratitude to the Almighty God for sparing our lives and for bringing us into the joy of the yuletide. Let me also welcome our brothers and sisters who have travelled from different parts of the world to share the warmth and affection of the season with us. We are glad to have you in our midst and wish you the full measure of blessings that Christmas promises.
2. As a government, we appreciate that this season comes with extensive social and economic demands. We have therefore taken extra care to ensure that you can function from any community in the State, however seemingly remote. On account of the massive investments that have been made in road infrastructure development; intra and inter-community travels for the most part have become a pleasurable experience. Our development efforts have also led to modest improvements in electricity and water supply, robust telephony and internet services, and other amenities that support modern living in some parts of the state. I am proud to announce that we now have a functional primary healthcare facility within reach in several communities to support the basic healthcare needs of our people. We have also made necessary arrangements to guarantee the security of lives and property in all parts of the State so you can travel to wherever you choose, within the State, in the confidence that you are in Abia — one of the safest destinations to live and travel to.
3. We appreciate the dire economic situation many individuals and households are passing through. Within the limits of the resources available to us, provisions for family support packages have been made to cater for the extremely vulnerable in different communities. We also invite individuals, families, groups and organisations to reach out to the less privileged and share whatever little we have for therein is the fullness of joy. This Christmas, let us bear the light of Christ’s love wherever we go, encouraging one another with our words, gifts and presence. We may not be able to do much but whatever little we can do with a sincere heart would be sufficient to bring joy and laughter to those in need. I invite us to remember in a special way, our brothers and sisters who may have been incapacitated by the miseries of ill-health and several others who on account of the shipwrecks of life, are unable to independently cater for themselves. Let us be consistently mindful of the fact that we are a family of God’s people where one person’s legitimate anxiety can abruptly steal the sleep from our own eyes. This, indeed, is the best time to be our brothers’ keepers.
