I spent hours watching a lecture and reading articles about the opioid crisis and libraries. Reading multiple stories w/ photos of librarians administering Narcan to people who’ve OD’ed. How those who weren’t trained watched helplessly until paramedics arrived. (1/2)
This has been a rough time for library workers, but just know that whenever you reopen, all the planning and sacrifice and agonizing over keeping staff and patrons safe and healthy will be rewarded when the public welcomes you back with a hearty "WELL IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME!"
The CA Library Assoc encourages @SenHJMitchell & @PhilTing to restore the $1.5M cut to the CA Library Services Act before passing the 2020-21 State Budget. CLSA is a popular loaning/lending program. Library patrons who request materials for at-home use is at an all time high.

Just changed all our local "illegal alien" subject headings to "undocumented immigrant." You don't have to wait for a higher authority to do the right thing. I'm ashamed it took me this long. #librarylife

Teens left the painting overnight to dry. I added artwork labels to each painting and displayed them in front of the Teen Room.
