Everyone agrees that the Cadet is the youngest onboard. Weirdly though, no one is volunteering as oldest.
Bell is ready
Whistle is ready
Drink is lined up for as soon as I handover to 12-4
2024 is looking massively positive work wise, so all the best to the rest of you!
Realised earlier that I hadn't had the annual Christmas 'yearly round up' e-mail from an old friend yet this year so went to check their FB. Last post was from someone else in Feb giving funeral arrangements.
Balls.

π¨ BREAKING: CARNIVAL UK THREATENS FIRE AND REHIRE π¨
Nautilus responds to Carnival UK threat of fire & rehire of 919 maritime professionals.
Statement from Nautilus senior national organiser Garry Elliot π
It's onboard budget bids time.
What new bits of FFE and LSA have made your life at sea better recently?
Has anyone found any fire fighting helmets with inbuilt mics that actually work?
Tell me of your best life saving gadgets
A very welcome sign.
Could this be the kick up the arse I need to go see about a potential diagnosis? Place your bets now!
(I should be, but probably won't be, because I know me and by the time I'm in a position to set things in motion I'll have forgotten)
It's Mental Health Day so I should probably fess up that mine isn't great atm. There's some stuff that's going to improve soon, and some stuff that can't. I'm safe though, and I know where to start if I don't feel the uptick I'm anticipating.
What's that?
My Mate's NoE.
Shit just got real.
(For non-UK folk, the MCA just confirmed I've done everything I need to to sit my Chief Mate's Oral exam and have issues the paperwork to confirm that)
Of late my feed here has gone from almost exclusively maritime, to almost exclusively Ukraine War OSInt.
I don't mind, it's an interesting read, but the OSint has almost entirely vanished from my personal feed. Algorithms are weird.
