Eight years ago already... Thankfully a lot of improvement has been made regarding LGBTQ+ representation in film and media since then, but no thanks to the #BBCSherlock writers, who had the chance but wasted it terribly.
The fact that it will surprise many people that animals can be gay, proves that more media attention is needed to create proper awareness of the world as it is, including LGBTQ diversity.
