The military spends close to a year building a soldier and about a week returning one to civilian life. @GLord75 gets real about why veterans lose their mission and purpose overnight.

---Reports---
-International Events-
1. Trump statement on U.S. aid to Israel: President Trump stated that he and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had agreed months earlier to end approximately $4 billion in annual U.S. funding to Israel by the end of 2026. He said Israel would still be able to purchase U.S. weapons and receive assistance if needed. The existing memorandum of understanding providing roughly $3.8 billion annually runs through 2028. (Reuters)

2. China military activity near Taiwan: Chinese forces conducted large-scale live-fire drills and war games around Taiwan, described in reporting as among the most extensive to date, following a U.S. arms package announcement. (Reuters)

3. Russian strikes disrupt water and power in Kyiv as rescuers still search for survivors in the south: Overnight attacks on critical infrastructure triggered power and water outages across Kyiv and surrounding regions Wednesday as rescuers combed through rubble in southern Ukraine, still searching for survivors three days after one of the deadliest attacks there in nearly five years of war. Officials from the United States, Germany, France, Britain, NATO and the European Union were to meet later Wednesday at the European Commission’s headquarters in Brussels. (AP)

-US Events-
1. Democrats Take House and Senate in 2026 Midterms with Historic Wins: Democrats gained control of both the House and Senate, delivering a rebuke to President Trump and Republicans with several historic victories. Chris Pappas became the first openly gay man elected to the Senate from New Hampshire, Abdul El-Sayed the first Muslim senator from Michigan, Keisha Lance Bottoms the first Black woman governor in Georgia, plus the first Native American woman governor in New Mexico and first Latina governor in Texas. Pastor Adam Hamilton flipped Kansas to Democrats for its first Senate seat since 1932, while a Mississippi race stayed tight; Trump called it a tough night but not personal, and reactions ranged from House Democrats' 'Let's get to work' to Elon Musk's space laser joke. (X)

2. Florida Learjet 60 crash investigation: A Learjet 60 crashed in Palm Beach County, Florida, on 1 November while en route from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas, killing all nine people on board and injuring one person on the ground. On 3 November, NTSB member Tom Chapman stated that the majority of the left elevator (a primary pitch-control surface) was recovered in three pieces 1.3–3.8 miles from the main impact site, indicating pre-impact separation.
