Since 1993, Operation Dignity has served the most vulnerable people experiencing homelessness in Alameda County, including veterans and those without shelter.
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Marguerite Bachan, Executive Director of Operation Dignity. A funeral service will be held on Sunday July 28th at 11am at Chapel of the Chimes 4499 Piedmont Ave. Oakland.

Although LA has the largest number of homeless veterans in the US, veterans have struggled to find housing and shelter to meet their needs. A project is finally coming to fruition at a site in Brentwood that the VA has owned since 1887.
Although gifted as a home for Civil War Veterans, the property has been used for a variety of completely unrelated purposes, including UCLAβs baseball stadium and a private K-12 school. At long last, housing for actual veterans is being built on the site ππ π§π·ββοΈ
