Left your Opal Card at home by mistake? Maybe, try tapping on and off using your credit/debit card, instead of lining up to buy a new Opal Card or Single Trip Ticket. How's that for an alternative!!

Here's a question - Would it work out cheaper to travel on public transport using your Opal Card, or your credit/debit card? Well, here's a tip! Off-peak fares are NOT available on credit/debit cards. The Opal Card is definitely your go, esp. if you're a frequent traveller.

If you haven't done so, why not consider setting up AUTO TOP UP for your Opal Card, so you will always be ready to travel. You will need to register your Opal Card first, before linking it to a debit/credit card. Note - Online Top-ups can take up to 60 minutes to take effect.

OPAL Phone Support will soon be available ONLY to customers with special needs or limited access to technology. You can top up your Opal Card ONLINE (https://t.co/HBEkudMr3Z), using the Opal Travel App, at your nearest Opal Retailer, or at an Opal top-up machine at your station.

Opal benefits, such as Weekly Travel Rewards, Transfer Discounts, & Off-Peak Train Fares, are NOT available for CONTACTLESS payments.
Remember to tap off with the same card/device that was used to tap on with, and don't attempt to pay for multiple fares using the same bank card.

You can now pay for your trip using an American Express, MasterCard, Visa Credit/Debit Card displaying the CONTACTLESS symbol.
Available only on Sydney Trains, Light Rail, & Sydney Ferries, and not on buses or coach (regional) services.
Opal Daily, Weekly, & Sunday Caps apply.

How much will you get charged if you forget to tap on or tap off?
The maximum (default) fare for each mode of public transport is:
Buses: $4.71
Ferries: $7.51
Light Rail: $3.66
Trains: $8.69
So don't forget to tap on at your origin, and tap off at your final destination.
