@TweetingTweet01 Honestly, small local models that run on weak PCs exist, but they're not great for companion use since they lack the depth and personality that makes the experience meaningful. But if you'd like to try, I'd recommend Gemma 4 E4B (4B) as a starting point.
@TweetingTweet01 Yes, Opaws supports both local models and API! So even if your PC isn't powerful enough for local models, you can connect through API instead :3
@MarekArts For local models, you'll need a GPU with at least 24GB VRAM to run smoothly. But if your setup doesn't meet that, Opaws also supports API mode as an alternative! We'll share detailed specs before launch.
Luca is Opaws' first companion, a warm, cheerful teddy bear who stays close on your desktop. Here's his first official 3D turnaround sheet. ๐พ
He was designed to be someone who greets you, listens to you, and stays by your side. The chat interface gives each companion their own space with separate conversations, memory, and settings.
Coming to Opaws soon. We can't wait for you to meet him. ๐งธ๐พ
First Mochi motion test ๐พ
A small jump, a little bounce, and suddenly Mochi feels a lot more alive.
Still very early WIP, but this is the first step toward giving Opaws companions real presence on your desktop.

We had a setback with our previous 3D modeler, but we found an incredible new artist. Here's the first look at Mochi, our base companion.

โ ๏ธ PSA: I am NOT affiliated with any cryptocurrency, token, or fundraising campaign related to Opaws. Someone is using my project name and GitHub to run a scam. I have nothing to do with this. Please do not send any money.
Opaws is open-source. The core will always be free. If I ever need support, I will announce it directly from this account only.
