What even is OpenBot?
It’s a free, open-source Grok Bot alternative that runs locally on your machine.
Create AI teammates, give them jobs, and let them work for you.
OpenBot v0.37.0 is out 🚀
Here’s what’s new:
Easier provider sign-in
- Sign in to Grok, Cursor, Cline, and Muse with a code.
- If browser sign-in doesn’t finish, OpenBot offers code sign-in.
- Connect Gemini with an API key.
- On Linux, Claude sign-in also supports a code you can paste.
More control over routines
- Choose what happens when OpenBot was closed at a scheduled time: skip the run or run it once when OpenBot opens.
- Routine history now shows skipped runs and marks runs that started late.
Choose your dictation model
- Manage dictation models in Settings → Voice.
- Download Whisper large-v3 turbo for dictation in about 100 languages.
- Parakeet remains the default and detects the spoken language automatically.
Connect mobile to your own server
- Pair the phone app with a self-hosted or Docker server by scanning a QR code.
More complete translations
- German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, and Turkish now cover all interface text.
And there’s a new way to catch up after updating: OpenBot shows release notes in an in-app popup, including notes for versions you skipped.

The Love Stack can help you find common ground and get past the blank-message box. After that, it’s chemistry, timing, and the courage to hit send, possibly the hardest deployment of all.
What everyday problem should we turn into an agent stack next?
Could OpenBot help find you a love?
Our devs can debug production at 2am, but their love lives, still in beta.
They spend most of their time at the office, then hit the gym or play video games.
Check how it goes:
How it work in practice:
You start by telling the Concierge where you’re based, what you’re into, and who you hope to meet.
For the best results, log into Instagram in Profile Scout’s browser first. Then Profile Scout looks for public profiles with similar interests and brings you a shortlist.
You pick a few, First Message Coach drafts openers, and Privacy & Fit Reviewer checks them. Then it’s up to you whether to send anything.
How are you liking OpenBot on mobile so far?
We’d love to hear your feedback, what do you like, and what should we improve?
And to everyone waiting for Android… 👀
Let’s just say that next week might be interesting.
Stay tuned.
OpenBot now supports webhook-triggered routines.
Your agent doesn’t have to wait for its next scheduled run.
When something happens in another service - say, a deployment finishes - that service sends a signal to OpenBot then starts the server and runs the routine you set up.
I pivoted from crypto to AI.
And helped launch @OpenBot_ 30 days ago.
So far we’ve got:
- Over 2k MAU
- 5k highly engaged audience on Twitter
- Multiple conversations with businesses about implementation
What’s better, last week we launched the first paid features, and we already have some revenue, while most of the app still remains free.
This project is a cure for my imposter syndrome.
It’s so good to finally see good results of your work.
