Hello Sara. I'll repost this in English for you since you're an American (also because you turn off your replies).

First, the Japanese government is not trying to punish someone like yourself. You said you're a voice actress living 14 years in Japan. First of all, you don't need a PR to work in Japan as an entertainment producer/voice actress. You have a work visa, no? Japan grants up to 5 year work visas.

You said that working in an office is agonizing. Please understand that this is how work life is for all of us in Japan. Japan is not an easy country to work. All of us Japanese work hard and some of us like our job while others don't. As a foreigner, you made a choice to come here and take up this life. You learnt Japanese, which is great, but living in Japan means working for Japan, too.

You said that in your replies "foreigners are being ignored". Well, yes, that's true. Why? Because you're foreigners. If I immigrate to another country and demand they change their laws, would they listen? They would not.

The bigger picture is this: most of us Japanese do not hate foreigners. We actually like people who learn our language (you don't have to be fluent), work hard and support our country but there are too many taking advantage of this. We have seen the failures of Europe, America etc and we do not want to mimic this.

This means that some people, maybe you, won't get PR visa. Either that or it will be much harder to do so. If this is a problem, please take it up with the foreigners who break the rules, protest in our streets, end up flooding our prisons, etc. This is not you but this is a lot of foreign residents.

This is, as I pointed out, because of the bigger picture. We are a monoculture country. We need to look out for ourselves, our future, our safety before everything else. This may feel unjust for you but understand that most Japanese people do not feel comfortable with the growing tensions involving foreign residents in our country.

You can call this xenophobia or racism but we call this our "lived reality".

Five years ago today I buried my 12-year-old daughter Semina.

After reporting to police she had been groomed, raped, beaten and bullied Semina took her own life after being told it was her word against his.

18 months later an IOPC report showed that the detective in charge of the case had an admission of guilt but failed to arrest him.

Semina nor myself were told at the time he had admitted to the rape, if she had been told she would still be here instead she was failed by all authorities payed to protect her and died thinking she wasnt believed.
