Good morning!
Hello world.
Let’s share common sense about open & effective government.
Let’s counter extremism.
Let’s fight organized efforts to take over local politics on the Peninsula of the Bay Area.

San Francisco is hit by another huge blow as RESIDENTIAL property market begins to tank, with investor landlord ditching 459 homes across 12 buildings due to plunging occupancy blamed on crime | Daily Mail Online https://t.co/G23ZB4Dxe4
@DigiAmir@sanmateoco@movesanmateo It’s also annoying & dangerous when cities like @CityofSanMateo take traffic impact fees & instead of spending them on reducing cut through traffic - which directly threatens riders & walkers - uses them to speed cars access to the Mall
@cupcakerobot_@AurosHarman@evan_adams@pheebkat@chandyman@Adam87046333@CityofSanMateo Mommy what do you do for work?
Oh my employer wants to be able to pay its employees less - so to do that we have to disregard the majority opinions of local residents and just build baby.
It’s fun, we get to dehumanize the opposition, call them racist, and seize power.
@AurosHarman@cupcakerobot_@pheebkat@chandyman@evan_adams@Adam87046333 Agreed - it is pretty blatant.
Political consultants for developers running for city council.
Google employees working to build more employee housing undercutting the @CityofSanMateo housing plan.
Developers, big employers, construction unions working together.
Blatant
@RickBonilla@CupcakeRobot Does anyone know Google’s Bay Area wage bill? How much could they save in employee costs if they got local cities to build masses of housing?
Apparently ~36k employees
At $200k each - $7.2bn
No wonder they pay for “build baby build” planning commissioners 🤑
#followthemoney
In America we are NOT corrupt 😇🫡
If our mayor works for unions
If planning commissioner works for a developer
If city council candidate is a political consultant for a developer
If planning commissioner works for @Google real estate & entertains the YIMBYs
“Coincidence” 🤔🤣
Thank you for your service @RickBonilla@cupcakerobot -
Who were you serving btw? 🤔
Cheaper housing for Google?
Moar building for the union?
“Follow the money”
What if it came out that
There was a direct connection between mega employer and local city politician who undercut the local city to demand more low cost housing?
Unions, developers, & big tech vs residents
But the locals are the bad guys
Asking for safety, quiet, & respect
@RebeccaForBART @Scott_Wiener Study elsewhere in the world
Clean and safe transit
Built even in Europe for 80% less per KM
It’s horribly bad in the US for the money we spend; unsafe, unclean, infrequent, expensive
Find & fix the core problems
Don’t shower it w/ yet more money
What if YIMBYs had thought more - and screamed and trolled less?
- instead of calling residents racists
- could they have listened & suggested traffic calming?
Maybe maybe the performative impulse is - for now - playing itself out on all sides 🤞🏼❤️
Hearing about @CityofSanMateo :
- working to limit train noise
- enhancing the one pedestrian friendly street downtown
- supported by a B street association willing to donate wooden instead of cheap plastic traffic barriers
Residents forcing incremental common sense FTW!
Your daily reminder that
- left wing or right wing
- competence & transparency are rare in local, state and national government
We spend more than ever
Vilify each other as nimbys & worse
But cannot find the money to paint a thicker crosswalk, or silence a 3am train
Which @CityofSanMateo city council & planning commission members for eg:
- work for a developer?
- work for a mega employer like Google (in real estate development of course)?
- work for a union dependent on increased building heights?
Sd we name names & research their 💰?
So @RepMTG laid down a challenge & I accepted. I’ve been going through her finances & to say there are irregularities is an understatement.
Since going to Congress 2.5 years ago, her wealth has increased by a factor of 15-25 with no explanation of how.
In 2019, she had a net worth of $1.5M. Now she has a net worth of over $40M. We need insight into how she grew her net worth by over $38M in just 2 years!
