Hello everyone! We are delighted to update on the progress we have made in last few months. So far our in our Algal bloom monitoring project we have trained 150+teachers and reached out to around 600+ students in the US, India and Bangladesh!!
Meet Poonam Verma, a science teacher from Bulandshahr, UP India, who is participant of OFC's algal bloom project working tirelessly with her students to monitor algal bloom in their local waterbody. #algalbloom#algae#frugal#citizenscience
OFC thanks all her efforts and wishes continued success of her project! Her students Rajesh, Meenu, Anjali, Kajal, Akash, Rani, Naina, Sunaina, Neeraj Kumar, Rajat, and Sagar. Great going everyone π π
The Free Press Journal talks about OFC's new project by @Edurafi, have come up with a technique to modify a #foldscope and make it detect #microplastics in air/dust and educate the children about environmental problems caused by #plastics.

Philodina- kind of rotifer that live in fresh water environment. Interestingly even though these are microscopic they are still considered animals because of its amazing digestive tract and specialized organs. Check out the fast moving cilia on its mouth to draw water in.
Beautiful movie captured by students in our cohort from Telangana women PG college, India when they went exploring π
