Demo Trifecta!
Agentic onboarding OpenGraph+ with Terminalwire.
Paste this into your LLM:
Install https://t.co/YhhoZxo90D
It installs Terminalwire, provisions an OG+ account and site, detects your web framework, and adds the meta tags.

Tonight it looked like the @applenws was busy cranking out headlines ranging from "Tim Cook retires" to "Apple Acquired OpenAI".
Turns out their Open Graph was hacked. In this video I show how the "hack" works and how you can prevent it from happing on your website.

Apple didn’t deploy OG+, but at first glance you’d think that because they allow user input into the Open Graph title and don’t show a screenshot per page.

@ShabbatMonster You gotta love the internet for having fun with stuff like this 🤣
I just shot a video about how this "hack" works, if you call it a hack.

@applenws If you're not sure what Open Graph looks like on your site, you can run it through Open Graph Insights, a free report that samples three pages on your site and audits them across three social networks.
Here's Apple's report.

@applenws Here's what a "hacked" Open Graph image looks like with the validator.
You can more clearly see the URL here, and all the parts that make up an Open Graph image.

Now all it takes to have banger Open Graph images for each page on your site is a single meta tag!
This means you can get spun up in a few minutes without installing any additional libraries.

Respectable numbers for a launch! TBH I don't care that much about the rankings. The real gold is talking to humans in the comments section to see what they think about it.

@PavitraGolchha@Google Fixed! Turns out I had a few HTTP clients that could deal with Brotli compression, and a few that couldn't.
Took Brotli out of the stack and all is well.
And by "all is well", I mean you get a year of OG+ for $0 for throwing rocks at Insights.

@PavitraGolchha@Google Yup! The image analysis tool can't deal with relative paths. That's my bad.
I need to take the base URL from the page and prepend it to the path when this happens.
Thanks for throwing rocks at this thing and being loud about it! Most people would have just silently left.
🙏
I doubt it would surprise anybody that @Ubiquiti does a really great job with their Open Graph implementation on their website.
They seem to do everything top notch.

Just added a ton of social networks & chat apps to the free Open Graph debugging tool.
Now you can see what your website's links look like on over 20 different platforms, like Twitter, Slack, etc. before you share.

Incorrectly sized Open Graph images commonly crop heads & logos in weird places.
In this video I debug @ycombinator's redesigned site with https://t.co/v8tMAEywyK to show how to identify & fix incorrectly sized images.
Sites that use https://t.co/DMDzRt6uxI don't have to deal with these problems because it automatically renders OG images to the exact size preferred by each social network. 💪
