International Women’s Day is an important one.
Girls and women face inequality, violence and oppression every day, so focusing our energy on the celebration, love and appreciation of women is so so needed.
But that energy is needed to lift up and empower the women in our lives all year round.
Girls and women are often made to feel unworthy, ‘too much’ or weak and we’re tired.
So let's change this.
We can start with the women in our lives, by telling them
I admire you
I’m grateful for you
I stand with you
I’m happy for you
You deserve help when you need it
You matter
It’s ok to chose yourself
I’m always here for you
🚨 Content warning: stigmatising language.
We’ve seen so much stigmatising coverage of mental health in the media in the past week alone.
We’ve had enough.
Language matters.
These words make people less likely to reach out for help when they need it.
Have you started a conversation about mental health this #TimeToTalk Day? If not, here are some ideas for how you could. Let us know if you try any of them 🧵 1/6
Today is an opportunity to begin those conversations about mental wellbeing.
What’s on your mind?
How do you feel?

This time of year can feel more difficult than usual – especially for young people who are struggling with their mental health.
As an adult who cares about them, you might feel like you’re the only one who isn’t feeling ‘festive’ right now. You are not alone. We’re here for you and the young people in your life.
We are at the end of the phone when you feel there is no one else to turn to.
Our online mental health guides support young people with whatever they are going through.
And we are actively working with politicians and decision-makers to push for radical change to mental health services. Doing all we can to ensure young people get the support they need, when they need it, no matter what.
