We join the world in observing the International Day of Parliamentarism, a day established in 2018 through a United Nations General Assembly Resolution.
For democracy to thrive, Parliaments, as cornerstones of functioning democracies need to be strong, transparent, accountable, representative and inclusive.
This year’s theme of Achieving Gender Equality, Action by Action calls on all political actors including Legislatures, political parties, civil society, media and citizens to:
✅ Promote parity in Parliament and Politics
✅ Encourage Gender-Sensitive Institutions and;
✅ Combat Gender-Based Violence and Discrimination
@MzalendoWatch has conducted studies highlighting the inclusion and representation of women in the Kenyan Parliament.
First, Owning the Space: Inclusion and Representation of Women in the 11th and 12th Parliaments. This report highlights the representation of women in the legislature and their legislative contributions within said period. Link https://t.co/LKSGXLtQPI
This study then formed the basis for "The Invisible Minority" Report that interrogates the intersectionality of gender and youth that presents unique barriers to the participation and inclusion of young women in political processes. Link https://t.co/WOHD8uadA2
These two reports go beyond highlighting the challenges that impede the participation of women in politics and contain recommendations that various political actors and institutions can implement to enhance the participation and representation of women in our legislatures.
May we continue striving for open, inclusive and accountable Parliaments.

PLU members were allowed to march to the Germany embassy but these young activists were arrested for peacefully exercising their rights.

Unpopular Opinion: Many people say, @AlienSkinUg with his Range Rover can't steal an Iphone 📱 of 3 million.
A kind reminder that those who stole iron sheets had mansions and more than 5 cars worth twice as expensive than a Range Rover
Get another basis of defense ✌️👨🦯
It took me a year of deliberately being blocked from being paid even after others were paid because of raising sexual harassment concerns that implicated some people at @unsaugofficial . And I am just one of the few people! The Judges should be paid!
Let's come to the rescue of youth being exploited by @unsaugofficial . Instead of cleaning it's house, the organization has chosen to blackmail, threaten and even fire the people that are demanding for accountability! Let's make them pay up!
@UNSAOfficial has already failed on its purpose of creation in the first place.
But fo start exploiting young people trying to contribute positively to the student fraternity is unforgivable!
Pay the Judges!
Principle 6: My personal favourite. NVR will prevail. Each time I find myself getting weary, I remember that this is a Marathon and not a sprint. ( As per a friend whom I cannot tag here because y'all think he owes me a visa) .

Principle 5: This one personally is the toughest. You chose love over hate. And love doesn't mean tolerance. For me it means using all democratic ways possible to acquire change rather than destructive and unconstitutional ways against these people eg de@th
