It was a normal Tuesday evening.
Mr. Ade had just returned from work. He dropped his bag on the chair and loosened his tie. His children were in the sitting room arguing over the TV remote. His wife was in the kitchen.
Then he started feeling a dull headache which he ignored.
A few minutes later, the room didn’t feel steady anymore. The walls seemed to shift slightly. He blinked hard.
“Maybe I’m just tired,” he thought.
But when he stood up, his head spun. The floor felt like it was moving under his feet. His vision blurred. The faces of his children became unclear shapes.
He tried to speak but the words didn’t come out properly.
His daughter noticed first.
He held the wall for support… but his hand slipped.
He slumped into the chair.
The children started crying.
His wife rushed in from the kitchen. She saw the sweat on his forehead. His speech was slow. One side of his face looked slightly drooped.
She didn’t panic.
She remembered a session she attended on checking vital signs at home one of which The Family Doctor Program is currently running.
She quickly checked his blood pressure using a BP monitor.
It was dangerously high.
She kept him seated upright, calm, loosened his clothes, and called for immediate medical help while monitoring him. These are small acts that become lifesaving in minutes. That evening could have ended very differently.
Now let’s ask the real question:
Why do we spend money on phones, clothes, parties
but not on learning how to respond when someone we love collapses?
Every home says “God forbid.”
But emergencies don’t ask permission.
Should basic emergency training be optional…
or mandatory for every household?
10days before valentine and there’s every tendency this goes to the millions before Valentine
