I really wish this Eugene Onegin didn't have two intermissions. Going straight from Lensky's death to the polonaise without even a pause is really great drama.
Philip Glass is easily the most overrated living composer of opera.
His operas all sound the same (with minor exceptions) and are boring (with no exceptions).
Singer I follow: tweets support of a singer accused by many people of sexual harassment.
Me: I guess that's understandable, as they might be personal friends with that singer.

@lucilovesmic@kumoricon My niece is the Ochako in the first set of these pics. She was thrilled to meet you, and you helped make her first convention a great experience. She can't wait for her next con. Thanks so much!
@intercitytransi I liked it, I liked that you can enter via either door (although I didn't take advantage of that option), I liked that it's an express. I may well make it a regular part of my commute in future.
So, when visiting Vienna, do not buy the City Card. It is a lousy deal.
A typical city card is quite a bit more expensive than a simple transit card, but it includes a lot of free admissions. The bonus is going to some museums that you wouldn't otherwise.
However, the Vienna City Card does not have free admissions, it has discounted admissions. And lousy discounts at that. Like 15β¬ to the Kunsthistorisches Museum instead of 16β¬. One lousy euro cheaper.
Just had perhaps my best night in the opera house in my thirty years of attending performances. I just saw Julietta by Martinu in the Dvorak theater in Ostrava, Czechia, and it was absolutely fantastic.
I first heard a recording of Julietta probably twenty years ago and fell in love with it. But I despaired that I might never get a chance to see it in person. That I could, and that it was so magnificently performed made this a memorable evening.
