US Health Secretary’s son fought for Ukraine: Russia has now put him on an international wanted list

32-year-old Conor Kennedy is the son of US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. In 2022, he joined Ukraine’s International Legion and fought alongside the Ukrainian Armed Forces for several months.

Kennedy said he was ready to die for Ukraine and urged other foreigners to join the Legion.

Russia has put the American on an international wanted list, labeling him a “foreign mercenary”.

If arrested, he faces 7 to 10 years in prison in Russia.

18 years ago today, I got off the bus at Fort Benning, Georgia to start my time in the Army. I was waiting tables and failing at community college. I was going nowhere, and getting there fast.

The initial plan was to enlist for a couple of years and then get out of the Army. What I found though, was a group of people I loved being around: Soldiers.

The Army gave me purpose, guidance, and direction. It allowed me to meet some of the best people this country has to offer. It taught me a skill.

It made me a leader.

Looking back, I can honestly say that being in uniform for 18 years was never the plan. But I am so happy that it became the reality.
