I'm losing myself. I feel exhausted every. single. day. No motivation. Nothing. 😭 I'm crying for a vague reason.

This experience made me value my profession even more, realizing the impact I could have on my students' lives. Despite financial challenges, moments like these reaffirm the significance of my job.

I am grateful for this experience.

Financial constraints were the reason for his adoption, and during our conversation, he expressed misery at not being able to hug his biological mother and yearning for her attention. Despite lending money to his siblings, he couldn't fully care for them.

He desired to reconnect with his family, but the shared bond was missing.

He hugged me tightly, crying on my shoulders, leaving me speechless. I offered advice and reassured him that I was there for him.

He was hurt, recalling how people questioned the differences in appearance between him and his parents, noting the abundance of white hairs on him. He realized his childhood friends and neighbors were his true biological family.

This revelation deeply affected my student, who suddenly burst into tears. He disclosed that he too was adopted, discovering it in the 4th grade when his parents casually revealed it at a party where his biological mom worked as a maid.

She replied, "Yes, sometimes they would pick me up, and I would visit them for a few hours before going back home."

Today was an emotional day as I had a conversation with one of my students. For context, he was a cheerful and sweet student who would burst into laughter at silly jokes cracked by his classmates. He was fluent in English, actively participating in my class.

She shared her experience until she mentioned her father returning home after a long time from the US, expressing gratitude for the "pasalubong" she would receive. Despite being adopted, she felt loved and valued. Curious, I asked if she had any idea about her biological family.

In the midst of exploring the app, I posed a question to his classmate, Jane, about Valentine's Day.

However, this afternoon, as most students were absent due to the prom, I held a class with determined and dedicated ones, and he was among them. We were learning about Microsoft PowerPoint.

You treated me well and made me feel special as your partner, and for that, I am thankful. Perhaps we were never destined to be together in this lifetime. I genuinely loved you, but it is now time for us to bid farewell.

Before departing Vietnam, I prepared myself for the potential consequences that would follow. I placed my trust in your promises and held onto the belief that you would honor them. I held onto hope.

I never thought that things would escalate to this extent. Your nonsensical and immature actions have left me feeling deeply disappointed. Nonetheless, I am grateful for the lessons I have learned from you.
