They failed to found states in either when Israel wasn't even involved. That suggests Zionism is not relevant to their failures.

@lily_turquoise @LanguageCrawler In English, generally. For fun, I read the entire dialogue using the schwa vowel each time. It is possible to do (even for the stressed vowels) but it sounds really stupid.
