I was rich. They were happy.
At age 22, I broke my first million dollars in sales in the art business. I owned art galleries, shipped artwork to more than a dozen countries, traveled internationally, and by age 27 was staying in luxury suites at the Ritz in Paris and Claridge's in London.
I promoted artwork alongside famous artists, including Andy Warhol, attended major art shows, and experienced a lifestyle many people dream about.
Yet something was missing.
One day at Summerfest in Milwaukee, I noticed a young couple walking hand in hand along Lake Michigan. They weren't famous. They weren't attracting attention. But they seemed happy, peaceful, and free.
That moment taught me a lesson I have never forgotten:
Success and fulfillment are not the same thing.
Money can buy comfort, travel, and impressive surroundings, but it cannot buy peace, purpose, genuine love, or contentment.
This is the story of a lesson I learned more than 50 years ago that still speaks to me today.
If you've ever wondered whether success alone can make a person happy, I hope this story encourages you.

In fourth grade, one teacher changed the course of my life with a single act of encouragement. This is the story of Miss Tool, a creative writing assignment, and how one encouraging word helped me discover a gift I never knew I had.
Who can you encourage today? You may be one encouraging word away from helping someone discover their purpose and potential.

The Epstein story is the perfect example of “transparency without accountability.” Millions of pages… and still no real justice. That’s why people think the system is rigged.
Millions of Epstein pages dropped… and the story vanished.
Here’s the 3-step media pattern that makes major scandals disappear.

@MikeWingerii@farmingandJesus Of course some people will likely leave when you accuse people like Chris Reed of faking Russian and faked a prophecy about you. I was physically present, know the Russian speaker involved, and can testify it was real—not staged.
@MikeWingerii First Mike Winger says Chris Reed “faked” a prophecy and “faked Russian.” I was physically present, know the Russian speaker involved, and can testify it was real—not staged. Now he's saying Chris 'threatened him'?
Mike Winger says Chris Reed 'threated him' and “faked” a prophecy and “faked Russian.” I was physically present, know the Russian speaker involved, and can testify it was real—not staged. Watch the video linked here and decide for yourself.
Mike publicly claimed Chris “faked Russian.” I was there and am an eyewitness. I personally know the Russian man in our congregation who spoke the word and interpreted it. It was genuine Russian—not staged, not read from a screen.
The allegation that Chris was reading Russian words from a PowerPoint on his laptop is false. At the 46:41 mark of the video, Pastor Chris says he hopes God would strike him dead if he faked Russian. Clearly, he did not. At the 48-minute mark, the video shows the events leading up to the Russian word and its interpretation, further confirming it was not manufactured.
Chris Reed is my pastor. I have attended virtually every Sunday service since the church began. I don’t like seeing my pastor falsely accused—especially after he has already confessed past failures and while he is dealing with the recent death of his mother, caring for a father with dementia, and recovering from serious illness.
Chris did not attack Mike. He simply objected to false characterizations and being accused of deception. Watch the video and make your own determination.
